Photo competition, the story so far…

Image by Raj Munisami for I Live in Camden

A couple of months ago we launched a Camden inspired photography competition with National Portrait Gallery. This competition is an amalgamation of two projects, Camden’s celebrations of its 50th anniversary and NPG’s Creative Connections exhibition that is looking this year specifically at Camden and its residents.

The photography competition is open to all and highlights three specific ideas:

  • I live in Camden
  • Past Camden
  • Portraits of Camden

These three categories let you share what images best sum up Camden for you. You have until 15 September to enter.

We have had some amazing entries already and we have more coming in daily. To get involved and to win one the amazing prizes listed below all you have to do is email your photos to or use the #creativeconnections hashtag on social media. More details can be found at

There will be three winners from each category (as selected by The Mayor of Camden, Camden’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Camden 50 artist Elly Clarke and NPG photographer Katie Peters) plus a single overall winner. The prizes include:

  • tickets to NPG’s Audrey Hepburn exhibition,
  • Two exhibitions, one at NPG on 1 October and one at the Town Hall in Camden on 30 November,
  • The overall winner will be on the front cover of the Camden Magazine.

And here’s a look at some of our entries so far.
