#5 - David Brown / Primrose Hill / 1977 / 2009 / 2015
David Brown was recommended to me by Peter Twist, who I met (and photographed) during one of the group Camden50 meetings a couple of months ago. We met at Chalk Farm Tube. I said 'I just got a Time Out' and David said 'So did I.'
David is one of the founding members of Camden Tour Guides Association and has lived in Primrose Hill since 2009. His Sticky Memory took us to four stops: Manna vegetarian restaurant, his house, the Vicarage, Saint Mary the Virgin, where his wife is the Vicar, and finally to the top of Primrose Hill. Apart from the stop at their house, David's Sticky Memory was about the evening of the day he got married, on a July day, in 1977 - 38 years ago. Having tied the knot in Durham, they travelled down on the train to eat at their favourite restaurant, before climbing to the top of Primrose Hill with suitcase in hand.
Because David is a tour guide, I got all sorts of additional brilliant nuggets of info on the way - about the Primrose Hill Railway Tunnel and much more besides.
It was an extremely windy and quite cold day. We did recordings and took pictures at all four sites.
