Camelot Continues

Both the visual and audio parts of the project have been progressing really well. The wall art takes inspiration from a pattern found in concrete paving stones in the internal courtyard of Camelot House. This is applied to the wall using some precision masking tape work. The colour palette and repeated pattern are reminiscent of a 1930s style, as the building dates from 1939.

The sound piece takes its inspiration from the fact that Camelot House site was once a reservoir. The piece mixes sounds recorded when a water main broke the other day (!) with field recordings of the area and voices from the community. The piece also borrows 1930s jazz samples samples to weave into the soundscape - a nod to the era of the building and so the visual pattern and colour choices - using old records we found in the TRA room!

If this all looks and sounds interesting, why not pop down to the Camden50 fun-day this Thursday and see the presentation of the final piece?
