Medway Court Launch
The second of our audio-visual installations made its debut yesterday at Medway Court during the Camden50 fun day. We've had a brilliant time collaborating with residents to make this piece, and learing a huge amount about the history, architecture and current soundscape in the process.
This sound piece is inspired by the nearby railway hubs of St Pancras, Kings Cross and Euston, the sounds of daily life for residents in the neighbourhood and the regular appearance of wheeled trolley-suitcases from passing visitors. This composition connects with the repetitive patterns of the visual part to the work - inspired by a geometric design which was an original feature of the building from the 1950s, by architect Denis Clarke Hall.
